SAKURA CON 2016

rennae Sakuracon just ended, it was a Wild ride. AKA ITS ALL A BLUR AND ANIME ISN'T EVEN REAL.
THURSDAY
We went down to Seattle on Thursday as usual this year! I got to the station like 45 mins early, but its ok...for some reason everyone else I was going with also ended up there really early SO I WASN'T ALONE FOR LONG.....
At customs we got the most unfriendly border guard I've met in a long while and he KEPT INTERROGATING ME. Where do you live, what do you do for a living, what do you study, where do you study, why are you going to Seattle, etc etc. I got a little fed up and when he asked me "how do you know each other I just said "anime" THATS IT THATS MY ANSWER, WHAT EVER BORDER GUARD YOU USED UP ALL 20 QUESTIONS AND MY PATIENCE. 8'(;;;; I already told you we were going to Sakura con....what did you expect.....
I was also trying to read a paper on celiac's disease the whole ride down and Amy had to listen to me ramble on about T-cells and the immune system for like 4 hours.
Other than the Border Guard incident, we got to Seattle fine...tho there was a bit of traffic and Emii nearly murdered some weebs in the back. But its ok, small blood sacrifices are required for safe travels.....
Anyways, we got to the international district, booked it to our hotel to check in and then booked it back to the international district to go to Kinokuniya!!!! ALSO WE RAN INTO QM AT THIS POINT AND I'M SO GLAD????? I finally met QM, she's just as big as a otoge disaster in real life as she is online, I love her. My favorite otoge disaster 8')
I did some damage. 8')
ALSO AMY TRIED TO GIVE ME THIS, NO!!! I DON'T WANT HIM!!!! I don't like him!!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!
Then we had ramen for dinner and it was pretty good even to me, who doesn't normally like eating ramen. The whole time we were eating, I was thinking about the pork slice and if it was being held together by meat glue since I read about that recently.....
But after dinner we just went back to our hotels and had last minute con stuff....like putting artist alley stuff together and sewing details onto cosplay. And apparently it was the last day of an Enstars event because I kept getting woken up by people waking up to deplete their LP or w/e. THEN Lisa's alarm went off for a full 2 minutes at full blast at like 4 am and I never got back to sleep. IT WAS VERY TRAGIC. No one slept very much that night.

FRIDAY
BUT ITS OK because now its FRIDAY and I had to book it to help set up artist alley with my table partner who woke up a bit earlier than me (thank god for meownica, she's the best???!!!). I got to artist alley at 7:30 in my PJs with peanut butter stains on my hoodie because I'm a sloppy eater when I'm tired...Also I'm getting tired right now, I don't think that sentence made much sense...
Anyways I got to artist alley to find another tragedy. Meownica forgot to bring the pipe connectors for our display...!! So it was a very hectic 1.5h as we waited for Angi to get to the con centre to see if she brought any extra connectors. Angi eventually came and SAVED US with some clamps and then we somehow ferreted enough connectors from somewhere???? I don't even remember who saved us with their connectors BUT IT WAS PROBABLY BRETT. Thank you Brett....
SO after our table was set up, I booked back to our hotel room to change into my cosplay because I don't believe in loving myself and taking it easy while tabling 8')
I was Ophelia from Fire Emblem Fates!! (again) I love her, she's my perfect daughter and I just kept being embarrassing all day.

A lot more people recognised me than I expected!! A FEa Henry yelled "YOU'RE REALLY CUTE" at me from across the hall and ran away omfg thank you friend, but please...come back....(thye never came back, I felt like I was questioning every Henry that came by my table that day...)
And I feel like.....she increased....my sales.....//eyes glaze over//
Here is some stuff I sold at artist alley!!
The picture in the middle is my first commission of the con and BOY!! DO I HAVE A STORY FOR THAT LOL.
So I also opened commissions and my first commissioner of the con was very sweet! But I was also very confused at the series of events 8')
Since it was early in the day, I was still drawing my commission sample and didn't really have anything in my sketchbook to show people. All I had was a small signs saying I accept commissions. My first commissioner comes along and he's like "oh you take commissions and I like how detailed your drawing style is, maybe I'll commission you" and asked to see a sample of my watercolours since that was an option for commission. But like I said, I was still drawing my commission sample so I had to frantically search through my sketchbook for a watercolour...The only one...was....this...
8') 8') he recognised them. "Are they from haikyuu?" I was yelling internally 8')
BUT HE STILL WANTED TO COMMISSION ME??? FOR A WATERCOLOUR OF A MAGICAL GIRL FOR HIS DAUGHTER????
THANKS BUDDY!!!! I'm wearing a banana stripper outfit and just showed you some lovingly rendered gays, but you still want me to draw for your 6 year old daughter I'm so. thank....you....
He came back a few times during the day to check on me, and also traded me some change when I was running low omg SO NICE!!
And then on Sunday he brought his daughter with him to say hi to me, and she was dressed up as nausicca from ghibli I think? SHE WAS REALLY CUTE AND I took a photo with her *///////*
After artist alley ended, I booked it off to my hotel to change into another cosplay (I know, I'm crazy. Why don't I love myself?) I also was invited to dinner with some of my high school friends who had a really nice suite and cooked really really good saffron prawn pasta! *A* it was delicious and I devoured it in about 30 seconds, so I don't have pictures of that either. I walked around the convention centre with them after and made them take photos of me because I was an invalid in that cosplay LOL I couldn't do anything 8')
I had a glove up to my elbow on my right hand and armoured claws on my left hand. I sewed an entire coat just to drape it over my shoulders, this cosplay is such a mess LOL I nearly died trying to finish this cosplay. I was also surprised people recognised me!! Drakengard 3 is a very niche fandom and Four isn't even the main character waahhh!!

SATURDAY
Ah yes, Fire emblem continues on Saturday. I woke up early to put myself into Corrin. Not much to say...I unchained myself from my artist alley table for a bit to go to the Fire Emblem Gathering (because I was the one that kept bugging Amy to make it eeehhhhh)
Kou as my butler!!! and Amy as my gross tiddy nee-san. THERE WAS ALSO A KANA AT THE SHOOT!!!! I need to go find a photo of us with them, but apparently they married their MU to Joker/Jakob and called me mama aGJDAOFJAS SHE CALLED ME MAMA!!!!!!! !! ! ! !! ! ! I need a moment.
I also made Kou call me "my lady" and was gross at her for a while AHAHAHHAHAHA
Then I zoomed back to my table to work on commissions, I wish I stayed longer to take photos with my friends!!! but I guess we can re-wear them back in Canada...!! Sob I'm sorry, I was literally married to my work and low-key dying all weekend.....
ALSO I MADE AMY BOOTH BABE FOR ME AS CAMILLA AND that was pretty funny.
After artist alley, I YET AGAIN changed into another cosplay. This time I borrowed a cosplay from Amy and went as Hotarumaru from Touken Ranbu for a quick 30 minutes.
Lisa borrowed my Kashuu, Kou borrowed Lisa's Yamato, Amy borrowed Kou's Kogitsunemaru, I borrowed Amy's hotarumaru. BASICALLY a long chain of borrowing LOL.
Then we went to have dinner and my salad was way too salty (like me, but I didn't need the reminder). The restaurant was really really empty and it was so weird, we had the whole wing of the restaurant to ourselves and also THEY GAVE US A WEEB MENU??? We weren't even in cosplay at that point.....

SUNDAY + MONDAY
HUFFS, last day of the con!! I decided to love myself a little more and wear...not Fire Emblem AHAHAH I went as Yuzu in her disguise outfit from Yugioh Arc V!!!
I stole Amy`s Love Live crown here, but!!! I borrowed the outfit I'm wearing from Maria because its too cold to be regular Yuzu....
THERE WAS QUITE A FEW ARC V COSPLAYS AROUND and I'm so glad.....please...suffer this children's card game with me...
I was really comfortable this day, and it showed because I memed the most on Sunday....
"Don't you dare talk to me or my son ever again--"
ANYWAYS THE HIGH LIGHT OF THE DAY WAS WHEN I SAW MY SON. USHIJIMA!!! USHIJIMA COSPLAY!!!! HELP!!!!!
LOOK AT THEM!!!!!! I gave them both a copy of my Ushijima print.....
OH RIGHT Apparently someone actually paid real people money for my Ushijima print aND I'M SO GLAD???? PLEASE LOVE HIM???
And someone else apparently walked by our table and saw Ushijima print and said "mmMMmmm THERE he is" in an undertone and I'm so sad I wasn't at the table for this oh my goDDD
And there was a Red cosplayer that was really good!!! I took this photo for Amy LOL
I finished all my commissions and refused to take anymore, so I could walk around AA. Then my friends came to help me take down me and meownica's table!!
Jenni isn't actually Mikorin, she's supposed to be an idol from an idol game, BUT WHATEVER MIKORIN, you're holding a tanuki. Accidentally crossover.
Yea then I put down all my AA stuff in my hotel room and went to take horrible videos with Maria
THEN I TOOK ALL MY MAKEUP OFF AND ANIME IS DEAD and I could go eat like a normal human being.
Then the next day I woke everyone up to go eat at Pike market. Also the older lady siting next to me on the bus wouldn't stop talking to me, help....let me recover from anime in peace....8'(
